Moonpie eating contest!

Only the best of the best can enter this life altering challenge! We are going to be looking for ten adults and ten children that think they have what it takes to be the first Uncertain Bigfoot Bash Moonpie eating champions!

The rules are about as simple as this classic combination. Everyone starts the challenge by taking a shot of RC Cola, then the five-minute timer begins. Contestants will attempt to eat as many (mini) Moonpies as possible in the timeframe given. Each moonpie must be removed from its wrapper before being eaten, the wrapper must be thrown in the contestants basket. At the end of the five-minute period all contestants will stop and their wrappers will be counted for scoring. If a contestant did not finish the Moonpie in hand a wrapper will be subtracted from their total. The player with the highest count will win a custom gift basket and a trophy for being the 2026 Uncertain Bigfoot Bash Moonpie Eating Champion!

MoonPies and RC Cola have gone hand in hand across the South for generations, becoming one of the most iconic snack pairings in Southern culture. The connection dates back to the Great Depression, when both products were affordable treats for working-class families, mill workers, farmers, and coal miners looking for a filling snack without spending much money.
MoonPies were first created in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1917 by the Chattanooga Bakery, while RC Cola (originally Royal Crown Cola) became popular throughout the South during the same era. Together, the combo became known as the “working man’s lunch” because you could grab an RC and a MoonPie for just a few cents and have something sweet, cold, and surprisingly filling.
Over the years, the pairing grew into a Southern tradition. You’ll still find MoonPies and RC Cola celebrated together at festivals, fairs, country stores, and small-town events all across the South. The mix of old-school nostalgia, blue-collar roots, and pure Southern charm is exactly why the combo still feels right at home at events like the Uncertain Bigfoot Bash.
